San Jose Animal Advocates asked us to photograph a couple of young kitties who are eagerly seeking their furever homes. This past week we had the privilege of meeting Buddy and Missy, two sweet furries who have been lovingly nurtured and cared for by their foster mom, Thu, since they were just itty-bitty babies. They are now 7 -8 months old and ready for their new families. Their foster mom, Thu, writes:
Buddy is a super sweet kitten who was rescued from the San Jose city shelter. He is a very active, fun loving snuggler who is ready for his new life. He would love to be adopted with his sister, or have another young kitten to play with.
Missy was rescued with her brother, Buddy, from the same shelter. This petite pretty girl was so scared that she almost didn’t make it out of the shelter alive! Fortunately she was rescued and is now becoming a loving sweet cat who loves to play and spend time with her brother. Missy would do best in a home with another young cat/kitten or better yet, with her brother!
If you are interested in Buddy or Missy (or both), please contact Thu Tran at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Handsome Atreyu is a My Mutt poster star for Pet Food Express! Atreyu, a youthful and gentle 9 y.o. red-nose Pit Bull, and his mom met up with us on a a brisk January morning at Vasona Park in Los Gatos, CA. In spite of being a bit camera shy, Atreyu most definitely delivered the goods — one gorgeous photo after another. Look out, Tyson Beckford, Atreyu is a super model on the rise!
Atreyu’s wonderful mom donated generously to Bad Rap to qualify for Atreyu’s poster session. Look for his bigger-than-life poster at South Bay Pet Food Express store soon! (Click the “more…” link at the end of this post to see all of Atreyu’s images.)
Blaze and Penny are My Mutt poster stars for Pet Food Express! We had the extreme pleasure of photographing these two young Border Collies up in the Fremont hills, where these beauties call home. Not only did we get to meet Blaze and Penny, but met plenty of their moo-friends as well. It’s mornings spent like this that makes me grateful to be a photographer!
Blaze and Penny’s peeps donated generously to East Bay SPCA to qualify them for their poster session. Look for these two superstars’ bigger-than-life poster at the Fremont store soon. (Click the “more…” link at the end of this post to see all of Blaze and Penny’s images.)
Peanut, Sookie and Diggy are My Mutt poster stars for Pet Food Express. Ananda and I met up with these three adorable furries at their Fremont home a couple weeks ago. Talk about cuteness overload! This trio just exuded charm and sweetness in every frame we shot. Their bigger-than-life poster is sure to perk up the walls of the Fremont store where they will soon be appearing. Congrats, you three little lovelies, and many thanks to your peeps for donating so generously to Furry Friends Rescue! San Jose Animal Advocates asked us to photograph a delicate little fawn of a Chihuahua named Bambi, available for adoption through St. Francis Animal Protection Society. We spent yesterday with little Bambi, her foster mom, Shyla, and her bestest friend, a cutie pie named Sade (as in the singer, Sade).
Bambi is a wee bit of a girl, estimated to be 6 y.o. who tips the scale at just 6 lbs. She was rescued from the San Jose animal shelter two months ago and placed into foster care where she is blooming. Bambi is considered a “special needs” dog: When rescued she had a skin condition that resulted in large patches of fur loss. She was also underweight, a bit wobbly due some minor neurological deficit, and terrified of everything and everyone. Through the loving care of her foster mom, Bambi’s fur is now growing back, she’s gained weight and is learning courage and confidence through daily walks and through her companionship with Sade (the little pug/doxie mix pictured with Bambi).
Though Bambi has come a long way, she will need a guardian who is in tune to her special emotional needs and delicate physical nature. To learn more about this precious girl, contact San Jose Animal Advocates.

We were contacted this past week by San Jose Animal Advocates to photograph a big Maine Coon kitty boy named Yoda. We met this lovely boy last night and fell in love. He was so calm, utterly regal and quite a natural at posing for the camera.
Only 3 y.o., Yoda’s situation is sad and very urgent. His guardian has terminal cancer and can no longer care for him. Yoda is temporarily staying with a relative who is moving out of state in 3 weeks and cannot take Yoda with her, so Yoda desperately needs a new home or foster family. Yoda is a laid-back, sweetheart of a giant. He weighs 30+ lbs. but is happy to just snuggle in bed next to his person and keep them warm. He loves other kitties, gets along great with dogs, LOVES to be brushed and likes to splish and splash in his water bowl with his paws. He is vaccinated, neutered, healthy and brimming with love. If you can help provide this boy a home, please contact San Jose Animal Advocates as soon as possible. If not, please share Yoda’s story with others to help find him a new furever home.
