Golden Gate Lab Rescue: 25th Anniversary Reunion & Walk-a-thon
Saturday, June 18th, I had the pleasure and honor of attending Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue’s 25th Anniversary and Walk-a-thon, held at Crissy Field in San Francisco.
Organized by Liz Frome and Cyndi Harrell, the celebration and fundraising event was a big success. Nearly a hundred Lab lovers and their 58 dogs attended, raising $4,000 for the rescue. The event kicked off at 1:00 p.m. with a one-mile walk along Crissy Field’s promenade and ended with a group photo on the lawn with the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in the background.
For the group photo, there were all the logistical difficulties involved with dealing with such a large number of peeps ‘n their dogs, as well as the issues of harsh lighting (mid-day sun) and San Fran’s notorious fog. In spite, my wonderful spouse and photo assistant, Ananda, and I managed to pull it off and came away with not only a nice group photo but lots of fun candid shots of the afternoon activities.
